George Newbern is an actor best known for his role on the hit series SCANDAL. He has been in several films including the beloved FATHER OF THE BRIDE and its sequel as ‘Bryan MacKenzie’, alongside Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, and Martin Short.
More recently he starred in the TV movie, BRIMMING WITH LOVE. His additional film credits include: 3 DAY TEST with Megyn Price and Taylor Spreitler, PUPPY STAR CHRISTMAS (2018), SANTA PAWS 2: THE SANTA PUPS as ‘Thomas Reynolds’, Timothy J Nelson’s THE ASSIGNMENT and horror/thriller SAW IV. George Newbern recently starred on the hit ABC drama SCANDAL as ‘Charlie’, alongside Kerry Washington, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Jeff Perry, and Guillermo Diaz. Additionally, he recurred on LAW & ORDER: SVU as ‘Dr. Al Pollack’. In 2019, he starred in ABC’s television holiday film SAME TIME, NEXT CHRISTMAS.
George was the voice of ‘Clark Kent’ aka ‘Superman’ for over 17 years in multiple installments of the Justice League animated Film/TV/Video Game franchise, most recently appearing in JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. THE FATAL FIVE. He has lent his voice to numerous video games including: Star Wars: The Old Republic, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Injustice 2, Supertruck, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., and Injustice: Gods Among Us.
George Newbern is married to actress Marietta DePrima, the couple reside in Los Angeles with their three children. George was nominated for 3 awards at the BTVA Voice Acting Awards winning BEST MALE VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN A TV SPECIAL.
