Joy Bryant, the Yale Graduate actress, is best known for her role of Jasmine Trussellin the hit TV series PARENTHOOD, Joy Bryant is an actress and a multi-hyphenated, highly caffeinated dreamer.
 
She made her premier in Robert Townsend’s CARMEN: A HIP HOPERA. The MTV production also starred world famous Beyoncé, and Mekhi Phifer. She has also been seen in the 2003 romantic drama HONEY, alongside Jessica Alba. The role that sky-rocketed was ‘Cheryl Smolley’ in Denzel Washington's directorial debut ANTWONE FISHER, alongside Derek Luke.
 
She has been seen in other films such as ABOUT LAST NIGHT, HIT AND RUN, BOBBY,  THE SKELETON KEY, LONDON, and GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN’. She has a long list of TV credits as well, with roles on ROSEWOOD, critically-acclaimed GOOD GIRLS REVOLT, GIRLS, and WHAT WOULD DIPLO DO? She has been featured on LOVE BITES and ENTOURAGE. She also appeared opposite Dwayne Johnson in the 4th season of BALLERS.
 
Joy most recently starred as ‘Marie’ in the new highly reviewed ABC series FOR LIFE. In addition, Joy stars as ‘Lori Foster’ in the Netflix series TRINKETS.
 
Joy currently resides in Los Angeles with her stuntman husband Dave Pope. She currently has a clothing line called Basic Terrain. She is an ambassador of Oxfam's Sisters on the Planet, an organization that helps women fight hunger, poverty and climate change. She considers herself to be an activist, entrepreneur and adventurer. She also enjoys drumming in her free time.
