An actress with talent and poise, Morena Baccarin has built an impressive list of credits throughout her career, challenging herself with each new role.
In DEADPOOL, DEADPOOL 2, and DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE, Morena plays the tough and witty love interest of Ryan Reynolds.
Morena is currently filming THE WRECKING CREW and MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE for Amazon and MGM. She was last seen opposite Anthony Mackie in the George Nolfi feature ELEVATION, which she co-produced. She also recently produced and starred as the villainous lead in NBC’s heist thriller THE ENDGAME and the lead role in Phillip Noyce’s FAST CHARLIE opposite Pierce Brosnan. Morena starred opposite Gerard Butler in Ric Ramon Waugh’s apocalyptic action film GREENLAND, and is currently shooting GREENLAND 2. She also starred in the thriller LAST LOOKS, opposite Charlie Hunnam, and the comedy THE GOOD HOUSE, opposite Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline. She has starred in feature film comedies such as ODE TO JOY opposite Martin Freeman for IFC and Paul Feig’s Fox feature comedy SPY with Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, and Rose Byrne. Her long list of television credits includes a regular series in FOX’s GOTHAM, the lead in ABC’s V, Jordan Peele’s THE TWILIGHT ZONE, THE ENDGAME and course , HOMELAND for which she was nominated for EMMY and SAG award.
Baccarin has appeared in many theatrical productions, too long to list, but which include Theresa Rebeck’s Our House, directed by Michael Mayer and starring Jeremy Strong.
On leaving Julliard, Morena auditioned for FIREFLY and two days later she was on set, beginning her professional career. The TV show was followed by its big-screen adaptation SERENITY. FIREFLY’s cult status and enormous fan following remain to this day. Critics and Sci-Fi enthusiasts refer to it still as “The World's Best Space Sci-Fi Ever."
Baccarin is actively involved with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and also sits on the board of Waterwell, a civic-minded theatre company based in New York that inspires audiences and students to change the world they live in.
Baccarin was born in Rio de Janeiro and moved with her family to New York City at the age of 7. She is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School and resides in New York City with her husband and two children.
