An actress with talent and poise, Morena Baccarin has built an impressive list of credits throughout her career, challenging herself with each new role.
Baccarin was most recently seen starring in Amazon’s hitman thriller FAST CHARLIE directed by Phillip Noyce, opposite the late James Caan and Pierce Brosnan. Baccarin also recently appeared in an episode of CBS’s FIRE COUNTRY. Her character, Mickey, will re-appear in the upcoming season 3 of the show this year, all ahead of her character’s series spin off SHERIFF COUNTY which is set to premiere in the 2025-2026 broadcast season.
Upcoming for Baccarin, she will start in the third installment of the DEADPOOL franchise, DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE which will be released in 2024. Baccarin is best known for starring as the female lead in the franchise to rave reviews. Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool (2016) grossed more than $783 million dollars worldwide (8 th top gross domestic film of that year), and Deadpool 2 grossed $125 million in its opening weekend. Also set to be released in 2024, Baccarin can be seen starring opposite Anthony Mackie in the new sci-fi thriller ELEVATION directed by George Nofi. The following year in 2025, she will return to the screen with co-star Gerard Butler in the STX disaster-thriller GREENLAND: MIGRATION, a sequel to the 2020 film GREENLAND. Additionally, Baccarin will be starring in Edward Burns’s new film MILLER’S IN MARRIAGE opposite Julianna Margulies, Gretchen Mol, Minnie Driver, Benjamin Bratt, Campbell Scott, Brian d’Arcy James and Patrick Wilson.
Her other recent feature work includes starring as the antagonist in NBC’s thriller heist series, THE ENDGAME, alongside Ryan Michelle Bathé, and the film LAST LOOKS, an action-suspense film opposite Charlie Hunnam. Additional film credits include starring in THE GOOD HOUSE opposite Sigourney Weaver, Columbia Pictures ODE TO JOY opposite Martin Freeman, and the narrative documentary, FRAMING JOHN DELOREAN, opposite Alec Baldwin which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. She also had a cameo role in Paul Feig’s comedy, SPY, opposite Melissa McCarthy. Internationally, Morena was the romantic lead in the latest season of SESSAO DE TERAPIA, co-starring Selton Mello. Based on Showtime’s in Treatment, SESSAO is now in its fourth season in Brazil.
Baccarin captured the attention of audiences and critics alike for her Emmy nominated performance in HOMELAND as Jessica Brody, the bereaved widow of Lt. Nicolas Brody, portrayed by Damian Lewis, starring alongside Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin. She began her career in Joss Whedon’s critically acclaimed show, FIREFLY, as well as its big screen adaptation entitled SERENITY. Later she was a series regular in FOX’s GOTHAM and ABC’s sci-fi drama V and recurred on the CBS show THE MENTALIST. She also starred in a television series from Viaplay called HOME INVASION and had a featured episode of CBS ALL ACCESS’ THE TWILIGHT ZONE, an updated version of the classic anthology series.
Baccarin is actively involved with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and also sits on the board of Waterwell, a civic-minded theatre company based in New York that inspires audiences and students to change the world they live in.
Baccarin was born in Rio de Janeiro and moved with her family to New York City at the age of 7. She is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School and resides in New York City with her husband and two children.
